Greyhound Athlete of the Month
Drew Shafer – Varsity Football: 4 year Varsity starter, two year captain, in 8 games has 50 catches/ 768 yards/ 15.36 per catch average and 10 TD’s. Second leading tackler on the team with 65 tackles. Has a 3.86 GPA.
Haylie Lewis – 8th grade Volleyball: Haylie always has a positive attitude. She comes to practice ready to learn, improve and become a better player. She never gets down on herself or others and encourages others to do their best.
Taylor Rouse – Boys Cross Country: Taylor Rouse has help develop a welcoming atmosphere in our cross country community. He reaches out to the quiet and shy to help them realize they are an important part of our team. Taylor is a four year member of our ERCC Boys team and has served as a captain for three years.
Anne-Marie Wright – Girls Cross Country: A solid leader and great role model for the younger girls in our cross country program. She leads by example and encourages others to work hard to achieve goals.Anne-Marie is a four year member of our ERCC Girls team and has served as a captain for three years.
Lexi Hallenbeck – Girls Swimming: A young lady with Cerebral Palsy who was in a wheel chair last year due to surgery to improve her ability to walk. Her goal was to just be able to swim a length and get her handicapped arm out of the water. She could barely swim a length at first and swallowed water constantly. She now has completed the 500yd freestyle at three swim meets and has improved by over a 1:30sec each time. Amazing courage and heart!
Kaydence Richardson – 7th Grade Volleyball: Kaydence took initiative and set up the volleyball nets until I could get to practice. She kept me informed of athletes that needed to be absent from practice. She’s was an outstanding team leader and always encouraged her team whether on the court or not. She took over my responsibility as coach when I needed to handle situations. She was an excellent “assistant”.
Ryan Freemire – Boys Varsity Soccer: Ryan is our Sr Captain and has done everything this year to deserve the captains arm band. He is at every practice ready to lead. He continues to encourage our team whether we are up or down. He leads not only with his voice but with his effort. He has been a key part of our team all season long. He is one of the most positive players we have had. Not to mention he has scored 3 goals and had 3 assists from our defensive outside back position.
Arianna Sysum – Varsity Volleyball: Arianna has been extremely consistent for the varsity volleyball team, always being someone the team can count on to control the ball and get points when needed. She recently had her season high and career high 12 kills in the teams match against Charlotte. She is also currently leading the team with 110 kills on the season.
Ashlyn Bailey – Cheerleading: She is not only an awesome athlete who will be cheering in college, she is an amazing leader to the rest of her team. She puts her whole heart and energy into being an amazing student, cheerleader and captain of her team. She is an all around great kid who deserves this award!
Alex Luttrell – Boys Tennis: Played multiple state ranked players and tight matches but never surrendered.
John Letarte – Boys JV Soccer: who shows great hustle, dedication, and hard work on the game field and at practice as well as in school with extraordinary grades
