Greyhounds News · Free cardiovascular testing offered at ERHS for student/athletes ages 12-25 on August 14, 2018

Dear Parent/Guardian,
There is still time to register your student for cardiovascular testing at EATON RAPIDS HIGH SCHOOL on August 14, 2018. Please visit:

Once have chosen your appointment time, please and click on “HS Registration” at the top of the page to complete your registration paperwork.

Preventative testing can give you peace of mind about your child’s health. And identifying an underlying condition early allows you to take action to help protect your child’s safety.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest affects many students and athletes each week. Most of the time, there are no symptoms leading up to a cardiac event, or students aren’t aware that what they are feeling is a sign something is wrong.

Alberta Price is a mother who nearly lost her son Malik when he suffered cardiac arrest while playing basketball. Alberta had been proactive and registered Malik for cardiovascular testing at his high school. For whatever reason, Malik missed his appointment that day and, thus, missed the chance to find out he had hypertrophic cardiomyopathy before it nearly took his life. “So many kids are dying out there . . . I know I could have lost my son,” says Alberta.

The standard physical exams are not enough to catch all cardiovascular conditions. This testing has the ability to help save your child’s life and to warn you about potential problems that could occur down the road. Please take the time to register!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Devon Cabral
