Based on Governor Whitmer’s mandate, the MHSAA’s position and the ERPS Administration’s directive, effective today, March 13, 2020, at 7:00pm through Sunday, April 5, 2020, Eaton Rapids Athletics will not have any practices, activities, scrimmages, games, meetings, etc with any teams/players. No practices, training, etc at any ERPS facilities or grounds. Please treat this like the MHSAA mandated ‘dead period’. All athletic activities to be halted include practices, scrimmages and competitions/games, as well as strength training, conditioning and any other organized sessions and activities in all MHSAA in-season and out-of-season sports. The suspension of activities applies to sports for all three MHSAA seasons as Spring sports practices have begun, Winter tournaments were suspended Thursday and Fall sports coaches are working with limited numbers of athletes during the off-season.
This also means NO off-site coach-led, coach organized, captain-led practices or training will be allowed during this time no matter the location. In addition, ALL Eaton Rapids Public School athletic facilities (gyms, fields, weight room, practice areas, etc) will be closed and off limits during the time period.
Coaches will be allowed to treat today’s (3/13/2020) practice as an informational session in which they may want to share how communication will be handled and some ways that the athletes can stay in shape for the next 3 weeks.
As we are all well aware, this is a fluid/ever-changing situation and we will continue to use this website, ER Athletics facebook and @ERGreyhounds twitter account to communicate with everyone. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work through these trying times. Go ‘Hounds!
