The Greyhounds from Eaton Rapids finished a very strong third in the CAAC Red Conference Championships.The Team was Lead by Senior Chris Letarte who won the 100 freestyle in a school record time of 49.45 and finished a very close second in the 50 freestyle also setting a new school record with a 22.28, both those swims have Chris qualified for the MHSAA D3 State Championships at Saginaw Valley State University. Joining Chris as a Conference Champion was Luke Lathrop who won his second consecutive Conference Championship in the Diving event and was joined on the podium by Freshman Jack Tanner who finished third and earned all conference honors. The other All Conference performers are Jordan Hawkins in the 100 backstroke where he finished third and Matthew O’Daniel who was also third in the 100 breaststroke event. The final all conference performers were the 200 freestyle relay team of Nick Stoner, Chris Letarte, Caleb Johnson and Kieth Morgan. Honorable mention All Conference performances were put in by Caleb Johnson in the 200 freestyle, Trevor LaNore in the 100 breaststroke, Kaiden Daugherty in diving and both the 200 Medley relay of Kieth Morgan, Matthew O’Daniel, John Letarte and Quenton Henderson and the freestyle team of Nick Stoner, Jordan Hawkins, Chris Letarte and Caleb Johnson . Both relays finished fourth inn the Conference. The team was well represented in our league Championships with several men earning valuable points for our team. The Individual events started with the 200 freestyle and representing the greyhounds in the finals were both Caleb Johnson and Jordan Hawkins with Alden Ehrhardt in the consolation finals. The trio finished 5th, 7th and 12th respectively. The 200 Medley had Kieth Morgan, John Letarte and Matthew O’Daniel all making the consolation finals and finishing 10th, 11th and 15th in that order. The 50 freestyle had Chris Letarte and Nick Stoner both making the championship finals with Chris finishing 2nd and Nick finishing a strong 8th. The diving event saw Eaton Rapids dominance with Luke Lathrop winning, Jack Tanner finishing third, Kaiden Daugherty finishing 5th, Quenton Henderson going 8th and Jake Richards finishing 9th.The 100 Butterfly had John Letarte in the finals and Calvin Ehrhardt, Caleb Hill and Dylan Smith all in the consolation finals. They finished 7th, 11th, 13th and 14th respectively. In the 100 freestyle Chris Letarte won a very fast 100 freestyle finals in record fashion. We were also very well represented with Caleb Johnson winning the consolation finals and Nick Stoner finishing second. In the 500 we had Alden Ehrhardt make the consolation finals and finish a strong 13th.The next individual event was the 100 Backstroke and making finals were Jordan Hawkins and Kieth Morgan with Luke Lathrop and Max Emery making the consolation finals. The group finished 3rd, 7th, 12th and 15th respectively. The final individual event of the day was the 100 Breaststroke and Eaton Rapids had Matthew O’Danial, Trevor LaNore and Tim Renney all in the Finals with Quenton Henderson and John Cooper in the Consolation finals. Matthew finished third with Trevor finishing fifth and Tim coming in seventh. The consolation finals had Quenton winning to take 9th and John finishing 15th. The team had a great season finishing with an 8-3 overall record.
