The Lady Greyhounds fell to their rivals, the Orioles of Charlotte, by a score of 40-45. During the 1st quarter, the Greyhounds fell behind 7-2, but using a few free throws, and some stellar defense, they pulled even to 7 a piece by the end of the period. During the 2nd, the Greyhounds kept up the defensive pressure, and took a solid lead of 9 points going into the break. The 2nd half was another story. The Orioles came out with some more offensive passion, and knocked down 14 points in the quarter. Their zone defense slowed up the Greyhounds a bit, and at the start of the 4th quarter, the Greyhounds lead had shrunk to 2 points. The 4th quarter started with baskets being traded by both teams, but then a few missed defensive assignments by Eaton Rapids let the Orioles take the lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Peyton Benjamin led the Greyhounds with 15 points, Followed by Ari Sysum with 10. Isabell Ausel knocked down 7 points, Megan Huisman scored 3, Loralei Berry added 3, and Serenity Horton rounded out the scoring with 2 points. The Lady Greyhounds look to get back on the winning side on Friday, February 15 at Portland.
