On Tuesday night, while celebrating the area youth teams on their annual Youth Night, the Eaton Rapids Lady Greyhounds won a non-conference game against the visiting Fowlerville Gladiators, 58-40.

The game started well for the home team, jumping out to a 9-0 lead. However, Fowlerville chipped away and slowly closed the margine to 14-9 after the first quarter. In the 2nd, Fowlerville game out shooting well, hitting a pair of three pointers and forcing the Greyhounds into a timeout. After getting refocused, Eaton Rapids went on another 9-0 run, and headed into the half-time break up 4, 25-21.

The third quarter belonged to the Greyhounds, who came out with some amazingly defensive pressure along with some hot shooting. Two runs of 10-0 helped fuel the Greyhounds to 24 3rd quarter points, breaking the game wide open. Heading into the 4th, Eaton Rapids was enjoying a solid 20 point lead. The 4th quarter moved along smoothly, and the Greyhounds came away with the 18 point lead.

A very balanced attack carried Eaton Rapids tonight, with 4 different scorers in double figures. Peyton Benjamin had a double-double, scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds, to go with 6 steals. Emily Cline also had 14 points, with Loralei Berry have 11 points, and Adi Sysum with 10. Also scoring were Shelby Warner with 4, Kyra Acker with 3, and Serenity Horton had 2 points.

For our annual Youth Night, we had over 50 future Lady Greyhound stars come and get celebrated by the community. In addition, the shooters from our 10.5k summer shooting club were honored today, for shooting 10,000 shots and doing 500 minutes of ball handling over the summer. The high school coaching staff is excited to see where the hard work will carry these future stars!

For our next game, the Lady Greyhounds travel to Portland for a key match-up between two state ranked teams that are tied atop the conference. Make the trip and cheer them on!
