Our Lady Greyhounds rolled a nice win Friday night, 61-26 over the visiting Big Reds of Sexton.
The game started as expected, with the Greyhounds jumping out to a 16-5 lead after the first quarter. During the 2nd quarter, the defense stepped up its’ intensity and a few transition baskets opened the game up, leading 36-8 at the break.
In the 2nd half, all members of the Greyhounds roster were able to get significant minutes, and the home team was able to cruise to the win. Leading the way for the Greyhounds was Emily Cline, with 23 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 steals. Peyton Benjamin also added 9 points, Loralei Berry had 6, Hailey Lewis had 6, Shelby Warner had 5, Are’onah Rogers had 4, Kyra Acker had 3, Megan Huisman had 2, Adi Sysum had 2, and Serenity Horton had 1. Quite the team effort!
Special thanks this week to Coach Dave Sysum and Coach Steve Worden for filling in while Coach Dan was out with severe illness. Way to step up coaches!
