The Lady Greyhounds traveled to Portland on Friday, and lost a tough game against CAAC White leading Portland. Hampered by foul trouble and injuries, the Greyhounds held on for one quarter, going toe to toe with Portland in the 1st, trailing only by 4, 13-9. Then in the second, the Raider of Portland took advantage of a depleted Greyhound roster, and pulled away.
Down 17 at the half, 28-11, the Greyhounds gave one last effort to make a push, but the Raiders were too much. Thankfully no more injuries happened, and the Greyhounds hope to get healthy in the upcoming week. They were led with Peyton Benjamin and Serenity each with 6 points, Adi Sysum had 5, Shelby Warner had 2 points, Megan Huisman had 2, and Kyra Acker finished the scoring with 2 points.
The Greyhounds have Tuesday off to heal, and take on a tough Ionia team at home on Friday, January 24, at 6 pm. Both teams will be 8-2 going into that game, so come cheer them on as they look to bounce back!
