The Eaton Rapids Girls Varsity defeated the Mounties from Jackson Northwest by a score of 44-41 tonight. Jumping out to a 17-5 lead, the Mounties looked in prime position to coast to another win to start their season, but the Greyhounds had plenty of fight left in them. Slowly chipping away at that lead, by the start of the 4th quarter, it was a 2 point game. With key 3 pointers from Juniors Peyton Benjamin and Kyra Acker, the Greyhounds went on an 11-6 run to start the 4th and give the Greyhounds a lead which they would not relinquish. Ari Sysum lead the way with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks, and Isabell Ausel had another great game with 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocked shots. Rounding out the scoring for Eaton Rapids was Peyton Benjamin with 6, Shelby Warner with 5, and Kyra Acker with 3. Sydney Shafer lead the way for the Mounties with 17 points.
